Ascendancy is a mechanic that allows us to Ascend and choose our Character Specialization. It also allows modification of gems to their Transfigured form (same gem, but works in a different way!).

By clicking these two buttons, you’ll find the images that contain the full Legend of Act 1-5 and Act 6-10, including quest rewards, bandits and Labyrinth Trials! It will open a new tab in Google Drive, where you can also download the images!

PoE Lab Website

PoELab (Linked HERE) is a community maintained website that provides all the daily information about Labyrinths. It is maintained by a community member – SuitSizeSmall (Link to Twitch) and his team.

Silver and Golden Doors

In the Labyrinth, you’re going to find Silver Doors, Golden Doors and their respective keys. While Silver doors give you a treasure chest when you open the room, Golden Doors allow you to proceed with the Labyrinth. Silver doors are generally not worth doing.

This is an example of a room with a Golden Door. In order to proceed with the Labyrinth (these appear in Merciless lab and up), you must find a Golden Key that is used to open this door.

There is maximum of ONE Map with a Golden door, however, there may be more than 1 Golden doors in the Labyrinth, but ALWAYS next to each other!

To reach a Golden Key, it is either in the same room as Golden Doors, or in a separate room. It is surrounded by traps, with Golden Chest (that only drops Golden Key) at the end. Usually, very close to the chest, there is a lever with a door that shortens the way back!

How to Ascend, Choose Your Sub-Specialization & Re-spec

Once you’re done with labyrinth (By defeating Izaro for the third time!), you will enter a room that has “Altar of Ascendancy” at the end of it.

Altar of Ascendancy is the mechanic after Izaro that gives us our own Character Sub-Specialization (Ascendancy). Characters in PoE 1 have a choice of either 1 (Scion – Ascendant) or 3 Ascendancies.

In this example, Duelist can Ascend to either Slayer, Gladiator or Champion.

In order to re-spec your character (if you’re not satisfied with the ascendancy, or you want to play a different build etc.), before you click on the Altar of Ascendancy, REFUND ALL OF YOUR ASCENDANCY PASSIVE POINTS (5 refund points needed per node, 40 total for full ascendancy respec!) and then click the altar. This will then give you the option to change to a different ascendancy spec.

What is Divine Font and how it works

Divine Font is placed on the right side from the Treasure Chests in the final room of the Labyrinth. It is used to transform (transfigure) gems into various currency, treasure keys or into their Transfigured form.

In any labyrinth that is lower level than “Eternal Labyrinth” (Uber Lab), your uses of Divine Font are limited to 1, with the exclusion of a Darkshrine modifier that allows you to use another one.

In Eternal Labyrinth, you can by default use The Divine Font 2 times (or 3 with the Darkshrine modifier!).

This is an example of a transfigured gem. These gems serve as a different version of already established skill gems and change the playstyle of builds accordingly.

Hidden rooms and their rewards

The Lord’s Labyrinth offers a plethora of hidden rooms for you to explore. Some are valuable, whilst some others… Are not.

Mysterious Darkshrines offer a variety of buffs that persist throughout the Labyrinth.

They can either give you a direct buff (permanent effect of a shrine), cause Izaro to drop different things on death (Additional treasure key, unique item), change the traps in the labyrinth (you take less damage or they are disabled in Izaro’s last phase), make a direct portal to the next Izaro’s room or give you an additional use of a divine font at the end of the labyrinth!

Argus is Izaro’s pet dog (pictured below). Once you enter his hidden room, which you will find on the “Current Location” stone, next to every map entrance and Exit (Marked with “A”) Izaro will say: “Argus, fetch!” and Argus will charge at you.

Best way to deal with Argus is to run either Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise around him, while continuously damaging him.

On death, Argus drops a Treasure Key which is used in the last room of The Labyrinth to open one of the locked Treasure Chests.

Notable mentions are hidden coffers, curios and labyrinth puzzles, but their value is so miniscule on average, they do not need more than a mention. However, if you’d like to learn more about their rewards, click HERE.

Enriched Labyrinth (Not for Beginners!!!)

Enriched Labyrinth is a special form of Uber Lab, which is area level 83 and depending on which key you use to open it, it gives different rewards and has different threats (either boosted Izaro, traps or boosted monsters). For more information, click HERE. As this is a beginner’s guide, Enriched Labyrinth will NOT be covered here.
